Fuzzy yarn is love...

*struts around in delight* You know how I'm prone to getting these wild ideas? And how sometimes there's follow-through and sometimes I just get overly excited for a bit and then just kind of fade?
Well, one of my weird ideas finally inspired somebody else. Somebody who actually has that elusive follow-through. ^____^
I think most of you are aware that our own Plaiddragon (
lavendarlizard) has been out of work for just a tiiiiny bit too darn long. And if you are a fan of her Blue Forest Banshee series, you are probably also aware that she is something of a warm and fuzzy yarn-o-phile. ^^; (Hang in... I'm bringing this all together here in a second.)
The independant (paraphrased) thought processes went something like this...
Plaid : Gee, there really ought to be something I could do with all this yarn that would keep me from starving...
Hawk : Man... you know what would be a cool thing to do with yarn?
So, we are here to announce the launch of SunDragon Uh... PlaidRaptor uh... fandom crafty stuff. ^___^
Our talented Dragon can both knit and crochet and has been busily producing samples for the last couple of weeks. And is now ready to offer up a lovely selection of fandom scarves and accessories!
Show your fandom pride in bold numbers...

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b66/Sunhawk16/IMAG0001.jpg
In more discreet fandom colors...
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b66/Sunhawk16/IMAG0006_edited.jpg
Or if you prefer non-pairing GW love, there's plain colors like this 'Wufei'...
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b66/Sunhawk16/IMAG0010A.jpg
Thick and fuzzy Puma Tails for that BFB touch. Plaid says these are called I-cord on steroids; basically a knitted tube. More decorative than a 'for warmth' thing...
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b66/Sunhawk16/PumaTails.jpg
A mix and match your own color scheme latice weave...
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b66/Sunhawk16/IMAG0007_edited.jpg
An assortment of granny square latice scarves in a variety of 'special' colors...
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b66/Sunhawk16/IMAG0004_edited.jpg
And last but not least, her very own 'Banshee Wraps'... (note the squeeful blue and purple varigated yarn!)
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b66/Sunhawk16/BansheeWrap.jpg
Perfect for a little extra warmth when sitting up in the wee hours to write. ^__~
Have a yen for a special pairing? Colors/numbers can be mixed and matched any way you like. Have an idea we haven't tried yet? Run it up the flag-pole and we'll see what we can do. Think Duo and Heero should be represented by black and green instead of purple and blue? No problem!
And now the particulars. You tell us what you want; the samples are just to give an idea of what can be done, this is pretty much about 'special order'. You tell us the style, the color, the pattern and we'll take it from there.
Standard Banshee Wraps will run $20 plus shipping, and standard scarves will be $12 plus shipping. $10 plus shipping for the Tails. Payment can be sent to Plaid (address on request) by money order, or to me through Paypal and I'll forward it on. Payment will be made when the article is ready to ship, unless you are requesting a special (expensive) yarn, and then we'll need some material cost up front.
Fandom scarves... the perfect gift for the fangirl (or boy!) who has everything! ^_____^
(Edit) Uh... oh yeah; you can contact either of us directly, or drop a comment here. Sunhawk16 (at) Hotmail, or Plaiddragon (at) Gmail.

Date: 2007-12-12 01:30 am (UTC)Heehee, the Banshee wrap is preeeetttyyy. The crochet numbers is a great idea, I never thought about that one. I've been meaning to do fandom scarves and stuff to sell for a while, but school keeps getting in my way (*starts 5-month countdown*). One day...
Good luck to you and Plaid!!!
Pssst, how's the quilt going?
no subject
Date: 2007-12-12 03:03 am (UTC)The quilt is progressing; down to the last block, but Hilde's color is being stubborn. Once I get her worked out, I need to replace a few blocks I wasn't all that happy with, and then I'll be ready to start putting it together! ^____^

Date: 2007-12-21 11:48 am (UTC)and not enough skill yet to execute them. Five months, that's graduation for undergrad, yeah. *can't wait*Hilde's -still- being stubborn??? Silly Hilde, give Sunnie a break - it's Christmas season, heehee.

Date: 2007-12-14 02:19 am (UTC)I love the latice, the colors and weave are striking ^-^ and the numbers thing is briliant ^-^ think she could work an 'x' in between them? Maybe turn them the ohter way so it's more of a banner. I'd love to have one for my wall cause you know I'm not gonna be wearing anything warm! lol
oh, and I have a 4" tall pink monkey that would just looooove to have a green tank top ^-^ (he's such a Hiiro fan ^-^) 4"'s though, guess the yarn would have to be fairly small... hmmmm
Oh, the teen used to make book marks, would it not be the coolest thing ever to have a 1x2 book mark to keep your place in your manga's? ^-^ You could do them in a set of five or somethng, one with each pilot number and corresponding color. Wonder if they make number shaped charms, like beads or something. *ponders*
Pillow shams would be fun too
ugly yellow bedroom slippers w/a secret zipper in the heel? ^-^ (from the teen)
wings? black and white, in a scarf or something
I don't know, I dun knit or crochet
hair scrunchies?

Date: 2007-12-14 10:51 am (UTC)There's something just a little off about Gundam themed monkey clothes! *giggles* Hmmm... if you started at the bottom and just... *ponders* Four inches? O.o;;
no subject
Date: 2007-12-14 01:50 pm (UTC)and my Minkey was very excited ^-^ (pink monkey=minkey ^-^) He's about 4" but his chest is only like 1.75" maybe? I thought knitting was farily easy to manipulate? and you avoided the braid *sniff* no braid? O.o If not, I'll take one of the weaves 1x2 of course ^-^

Date: 2007-12-14 11:54 pm (UTC)I'll have to check with Plaid on the money-shirt, I'm more of a crocheter... not so good with the knit. But knit makes better stuff that needs to stretch...
no subject
Date: 2007-12-15 05:11 am (UTC)hmmm, well I like the texture of knitting I suppose, but the teens working on a blanket that's really nice, it's not a stitch I'm familiar with (I gave it up when I was like 8? lol) but it's really nice. ^-^ You know, I must've missed something in the intro for this because I had the impression Plaid was doing the stitching to earn extra money? I didn't realize you were going to make things too ^______^
How thick are those puma tails? maybe they could be braided together? I could just take a couple of those and do the braid myself I suppose ^-^ then again, she does that weave, I wonder if that could be incoporated into a braid instead or is it a set pattern? Just idea's. I'm easy, I'll just take one of the latice pieces in a 1x2 theme (and the monkey will pout if he doesn't get a shirt. ever seen a pink monkey pout? it's not a pretty picter *shakes head* lol) I suppose I could appease him however, whatever's convient for you guys. ^-^
no subject
Date: 2007-12-15 11:45 am (UTC)And Lord knows we don't want to see a pouty pink monkey! ^o^ Can you measure the little guy? Top of shoulder to where the hem would be, and around the tummy? Hell... we'll give it a try! ^o^ Or Plaid will give it a try and I will offer encouragement. ^________^
The thickness of the Puma Tails varies on the size needles you use; the samples are probably about as big around as... *tries to think of something* Ah! Like a hotdog! :P But if she used smaller needles, could maybe thin it down... *ponders*
no subject
Date: 2007-12-15 01:10 pm (UTC)But, Duo's braid is pretty thick, wouldn't we need to go bigger on the tails? just do three of them then braid them together? What were you getting for the standard ones? $5? or $10? Can't let the damn muse suck me dry of the rent money I made on commisions either lol But I assume the larger tails would be more expensive. still I'd like to do this if we can work it out, let me know the new price though.
