Ok, ok... a little something that is not art...

Ok, so it has been drawn to my attention that maybe I could... you know... post something more along the lines of the written word. >_>
And I happened to remember a comment fic that I wrote a while back for [livejournal.com profile] link_worshiper, that kind of suits the season. Sort of.
So previously posted, but probably not noticed, so that makes it new... right?

She shifted over toward the players guide rack, carefully maintaining the look of bored disdain. With a theatric yawn, she lifted down a copy of Zelda the Four Swords and used it to mask a scan of the store. Ah… there he was. Damn it; he'd gotten closer to the counter when she'd lost sight of him near the Resident Evil display. A slight turn to the left brought Duo into sight and she put the book back on the rack, giving the man one of those looks that meant 'come here'. He had to be gotten out of the way… he was too astute. And willing to see things that Heero never could.

'If I have to stay in this silly store,' she muttered to him when he came to her side. 'I simply must have something to drink.'

'Princess…' Duo warned, not looking happy. 'It's really not a good idea for any of your guards to leave.'

'Please, Duo?' she wheedled. 'I'm so thirsty and we only stopped because you said Heero wanted to.'

He sighed, rubbing a hand over his face and casting a glance first toward Heero, who was getting dangerously out of range, and then agent Nicholson, at the front of the store. 'All right. But you stay right here with Heero.'

'Of course,' she smiled sweetly, wanting nothing more than to shove his butt out of the damn store. Nicholson was a piece of cake; the man wouldn't notice a pass from an elephant, but Duo she wanted out of the way.

She made a casual turn around the rack as soon as Duo checked in with Nicholson and walked out. Damn it! Heero was almost close enough to start talking to the clerk. This was going to call for desperate measures. Taking a breath, she… yelped.

Heero, predictably, was at her side in a moment.

'What's wrong?' he wanted to know, his hand inside his coat, and she made her eyes focus on the lurid poster just over his right shoulder, until the suitable blush came to her cheeks.

'That… that man pinched me!' she whispered, gesturing wildly toward the front of the store and about five different people. His hand came off his gun, but he whirled away with a look of righteous anger on his face.

With a feral grin, she moved quickly toward the counter. 'I'd like that copy of FFXII, please.'

'You got the last copy!' the clerk smiled as she rang it up, and Relena's grin only grew.

'I know.'

The game would be a blast when she got it home to the privacy of her own room, but the best part really was the thrill of the hunt. Transaction finished, she slipped the game safely out of sight in her Godiva's bag, and was well away from the counter before Heero came back.

'Oh darn,' she pouted. 'He seems to have gotten away. Well, never mind.'

Heero, looking irritated at having been thwarted in dispensing justice, sighed heavily. 'Let me take care of one thing, and then we'll get out of here.'

Thankfully, Duo came back with her drink then, and she was able to use it to hide the wide smile as the clerk told her body guard, 'I'm sorry sir, but we just sold the last copy.'

Yes; the joy was all in a successful capture.

LOLZOMG!!!! I love it, love it. That was great, "the joy was all in a successful capture". *huggles you*

And I was weirded out by the fact that the agent mentioned has my name...

^_^ Yay, writing!! *smooch*

Damnit, no Relena icon...

[identity profile] book-people.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
That was absolutely beautiful. Hurrah for sneaky Relena! She doesn't show up nearly enough in canon... or fandom, for that matter. *grin*

That is absolutely brilliant. XD Sneaky Relena is awesome, and it makes me laugh that Duo is the most dangerous in noticing her intentions.
Awesome.

[identity profile] chibiusa-chan1.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Perfect ! XDD

Exactly that, Duo would be the only one to notice her real intentions... XDD

Relena is truly evil. Great shopper though. Great short. Thank you.

Oooh, sneaky devious Relena, a rare beast indeed. XD

[identity profile] riceball05.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
That. Was. AMAZING.

Thank you for taking the stress of finals week away! (I have my math final tomorrow; wish me lots of luck!)
Good job on the posting of the written word business -- we, your loyal readers, love you all the more.

Bwahahaha! I wonder if she'll let them play when she's finished with the game.

::innocent whistle::

I do like this. It's nice to see Relena when she's neither clueless nor evil. well, Jury's still out on the evil, but you get the point.

So appropriate for the season, when the battle for the last of the best/newest rages in the stores.

Nice take on Relena although she still doesn't have my vote.

[identity profile] sharona1x2.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 08:18 am (UTC)(link)
That was very cute! Hopefully Duo will think of some other way to keep Heero entertained. ^_^

[identity profile] ravensilver.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 10:19 am (UTC)(link)
That was fun! ^^ She's got shopping-jutsu down pat! ;) Poor Heero. Totally oblivious. *gg* She's really sneaky. Loved that!

[identity profile] t-shirt1x2.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
rofl! I hope she's planning on rapping that up and sticking it under H&D's tree when she's done! lol Poor Hiiro, I can feel his pain *pets him*

[identity profile] ennaeverbright.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm, 9 points for the idea with the Duo distraction, only 6 points for the idea with the Heero distraction (really, "he pinched me"....) and minus 10 for the other agent for not noticing that she vanished. And for Relena the black-belt in shopping.
Lol, for a moment I thought that she was trying to get a present for Heero or Duo without them noticing, wouldn't that have been even more thrilling?

thats awsome!!

Heres the funny part. Something like that happened at my store the other week. We had one copy of a particular male vocalists christmas cd left in stock on the other side of the store, the two girls who asked for it started walking over to get it and the person in line behind them took off running to get it before them!!! When my employee told me that I just about died laughing!!
